The Spirit of the House

A 19th century mansion fully restored

We had an immediate crush in June 2020 for this old mansion abandoned in the middle of a park of nearly 7 ha of woods and meadows.

In 2 and a half years of work carried out by skilled craftsmen, we have endeavored to restore the lost cachet of this house.

Floor tiles, parquet floors, fireplaces, windows have been restored or changed.

We have completely taken over the insulation of the walls and partitions for optimal comfort.

We have taken the attention to detail to the point of installing porcelain switches and sockets, installing basements and double plinths by recovering as much of the materials already present as possible: the old doors have been stripped, reworked or transformed into the head of the bed (Le Verger guest room and its Louis XIV style door).

Some of the floor tiles on the second floor have been peeled off, stripped and then reinstalled.

The good quality cast iron radiators have been retained.

A very personal decoration

We are real enthusiasts. Lovers of life, nature, animals, heritage and, of course, great faithful in friendship.

As such, we make no concessions: it's all or nothing! In terms of decoration, our tastes, for one as for the other, are varied but come together to create a coherent whole, an atmosphere.

David likes the "Cabinet of Curiosities" style, the strange; as for Anne-Lucie, she has always rummaged through the family attic, unearthing cookie boxes, old photos and other old things.

We found ourselves on the exoticism, the memories brought back from travels, from our expatriation in the Middle East, without forgetting our roots: for one Provence, for the other Touraine.

It is this unique atmosphere that we invite you to share in our house, a bit heterogeneous, joyful, warm and friendly.

Enter, come and discover our universe...

Nestled in nearly 7 hectares of nature

Outside the house

We welcome you on nearly 7 hectares of nature shared between meadow, wood, pond.

In addition to the terrace, you can enjoy the heated swimming pool softened with salt (11 x 5) open in season or even stroll in the meadow or in our shaded and welcoming forest.

A ping-pong table and rackets are at your disposal.

You will also enjoy having tea, a glass of wine or beer, or tasting your slate in the shade of ourcentury-old oak trees.

Your hosts: Anne-Lucie and David

Natives of Touraine and Provence respectively, we are keen to help you discover the riches of Touraine and nearby Sologne and Berry.

Lovers of our region, we open our house to you, decorated according to our travels, our chinas and family heirlooms.

We adore our four-legged friends but the presence of our two dogs unfortunately does not allow us to welcome them; however, we will be happy to direct you if you wish to our friend Christine who runs a boarding house for dogs and cats not far from our home.
